A special Valentine’s flower market will take place this weekend at one of the Sheffield’s most popular markets.

The Pollen Market, which is held every third Sunday of the month at Grey to Green in Castlegate, is a monthly celebration of all things botanical – and this Sunday, February 11, it’s hosting an one off special to celebrate February 14.

Blending botanical wonders, live music, artistry, and local specialties, each Pollen Market highlights a wide range of products from independent businesses in Sheffield and beyond.

Loz Barker, a coordinator from Peddler Warehouse said: “From flowers and cacti to fruit, veg and seeds, each event will be a floral feast for the eyes, as well as an opportunity to learn some skills yourself and bring life to this side of the city.”

Curated by the Sheffield Peddler team, visitors can sample a wide range of street food, delicacies, coffee, and craft beers, creating a laid-back atmosphere.

More than 20 plant sellers, florists, producers, and talented artists/makers will be on hand at the Valentine edition Pollen Market to provide you with an extraordinary experience. A variety of food and beverages will delight your taste buds.

From 11am to 4pm, you can experience unique creativity with Kohler’s candle painting event. Raise your artistic spirit with a 5-minute doodle or live portrait session with Lucy Brooke. In addition, live music performances will be held throughout the market.

George Wilson, a plant lover who is going to Pollen Market said: “I’ve been Pollen market for several times last year, and i really love the vibe and the feeling there. It just brings a green and positive vibe to this city!”

The market is aim to bring colours and sustainability to inner-city Sheffield with the planting and biodiversity, because mental health and lifestyle are real problems exploding during and post-pandemic. The concept behind the pollen market is bringing botanical elements to make positive impacts on people.

The Pollen Market is open every Sunday from 10am to 4pm, and visitors are welcome to come and experience the natural charm and vibrant community spirit of Sheffield City Centre’s flower market.
