The Barnsley 10k run will commence again this summer, with the route once again navigating through Barnsley Town Centre.

The event, organised by Active in Barnsley, is part of the #WhatsYourMove campaign. This initiative aims to help Barnsley to improve physical and mental health.

1,000 places are up for grabs in the race, with applications opening at 5pm on Tuesday 23rd February.

Barnsley Council have announced that the race will take place on Sunday 30th June at 9am, where the route passes through Barnsley town centre, Wilthorpe and Redbrook, before looping back around the Claycliffe area.

The event will be closed to traffic from 8.30am until 11am with a time limit of two hours for the race. Runners still involved in the race will be moved to the pavements for safety.
