A vegan market touring the UK visited the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

Vegan Events UK has been holding events since 2017 which aims to educate about veganism, promote vegan businesses and show people how easy and affordable being vegan can be.

Owner of Ethicoco, a vegan chocolate business based in Winchester, Linden Rufus-Winters, said: “Everybody here is a potential customer.

“If you’re on a high street just doing a market, ninety percent of people are just going to walk past, because they’re not vegan so they’re not interested.”

At each event, there are over 60 stalls that are owned by independent vegan businesses from across the UK.

These stalls offer a range of vegan products, such as sustainable alternatives to household products and world foods. They also hold informative talks from professionals and activists.

Vegan Events UK will hold 18 markets all over the United Kingdom throughout the year.

There have been 4 markets confirmed in Yorkshire, with more across the country to be confirmed.

The next market will take place on the 1st of June in Coventry.
