The Sheffield Sustainable Market returned for the third time last weekend, with local makers selling plastic free and sustainable products at Victoria Hall.
The market is run by Sheffield Action on Plastic, a local environmental community organisation aiming to reduce the amount of single-use plastics in the city.
Research in 2024 from City to Sea found that 83% of shoppers were concerned with the amount of plastic in their everyday shop, and that they found there to be a lack of sustainable alternatives.
Shoppers were encouraged to bring their own reusable bags, containers, bottles and cutlery.
Greg Hewitt, the chair of Sheffield Action on Plastic hopes that the sustainable market will encourage shoppers to make sustainable swaps in their daily lives.
