
A pedestrian died on the M1 southbound at junction 37 after colliding with a white DAF truck.
South Yorkshire Police were informed of a traffic collision at 2:15pm on Saturday (28 February) and rushed to the scene with Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Despite the best efforts of the police and ambulance services, the pedestrian – an elderly man, died at the scene.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: ”Whilst identification is not yet confirmed officers are making enquiries with who we believe to be the next of kin.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who saw the pedestrian in the area, either on Dodworth Road or the southbound entry slip, prior to the collision to get in touch.”
