A new independent gift shop in the heart of the city looks to bring people back to the high street by showcasing local artwork.
7th Magpie on York Street sells unique gifts created by over 50 local artists, crafters and businesses.
Social media manager Raye Osterloh hopes the store will “foster community among local artists.”
The opening comes at a time of reduced foot traffic and customer spending caused by major retailer closures.
Among the many items sold include art prints, handmade accessories and Sheffield-inspired souvenirs.
In the coming weeks, stockists will have a dedicated space to make their items and inspire others. The Maker’s Hub featuring a laser engraver, 3D printers and more, will champion the community spirit.
