Sheffield Wednesday’s Community Programme has announced that former manager Carlos Carvalhal, as well as other ex-players, will be returning to S6 this May to raise funds for Weston Park Cancer Charity and the Community Programme

The first event, a charity dinner, will take place on Friday 8 March, and will include a Q&A with Carlos, a raffle and an auction.

Tickets for the dinner sold out just a day after the event was announced, with fans clearly relishing the opportunity to have Carlos back at Hillsborough.

A charity football match will then take place on Saturday 9 May at Hillsborough, featuring multiple past players, such as Daniel Pudil, Steven Fletcher and former captain Glen Loovens.

James Shaw, Marketing and Communications Manager at the Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme said: “It’s fantastic to see such a strong response from supporters for these events.

“Bringing back Carlos and the 2016 squad is not only a great moment for fans, but a powerful way to raise vital funds for the Community Programme and Weston Park Cancer Charity.

“The support will make a real difference to the work we deliver across our communities.”

Fans will have the unique chance to play against the Wednesday legends at Hillsborough, with 16 places available to play in the game.

For a minimum donation of £1,000, fans can secure their name on the team sheet for the game, and also receive two training sessions with Daniel Pudil, a meal before the game and a place at the dinner with Carlos.
