Cattle Grind, a Sheffield DIY band, held a launch party at Yellow Arch studios to celebrate the release of their self-titled EP.

The venue in Kelham Island was a former recording studio, was made famous by artists such as Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, Duane Eddy and Kylie Minogue.

It became a fully licensed music venue in 2015.

Yellow Arch is arguably best known for being the rehearsal space for the Arctic Monkeys in the mid 2000’s.

The performance, which had support from fellow local bands, No Peeling and Padogas, comes as local South Yorkshire venues continue to support the DIY scene despite rising costs.

The gig was described by Sheffield online magazine ‘Scene and Herd’ as the “event of the week”.
