“Proms for All and All for Proms” took place at Off the Craft this weekend, the event gives families the chance to buy affordable prom wear while supporting charities.
When talking about rising costs, organiser Charlotte Driver said: “prom wear costs an absolute fortune.
“It’s a lot of cost on your pocket but it’s a lot of cost to the environment as well.”
The event promoted recycling clothes instead of buying items that may be only worn once.
Mrs Driver said: “the more that we can recycle here and share what we’ve got, clothing wise, the better.”
Money raised from the prom-wear charity sale will be split between three charities, including Weston Park Cancer Charity, Africa’s Gift and Tanzania CCMP.
