A fundraiser is taking place this weekend to support a Sheffield youth club set up in memory of a schoolboy stabbed to death last year.
The Hogshead Pub in Hackenthorpe is hosting a day of activities on Sunday, including live music, children’s games and an auction, with all proceeds going towards the club.
Bar manager Ben Harris-Shaw, who organised the event, said: “If kids are entertained, they’re not going to want to be roaming the streets, getting in with the wrong crowds or picking knives up. They’ll go down different paths in life. To me, that’s what it’s all about.”
Harvey Willgoose was 16 when he was fatally stabbed by another boy at All Saints Catholic High School last February. His parents Mark and Caroline have campaigned to tackle knife crime, and launched the youth club to give young people a place to socialise.
