A Sheffield mum-of-four has thanked the community for donations after a fire broke out in her home.
The property was destroyed last Friday and the majority of the family’s belongings were lost to smoke damage.
Within days of the incident, the local community pulled together to provide the family with donations of children’s toys and clothes, furniture and gift cards.
The 30-year-old mum, who asked not to be named, said: “The amount of support from the community has been overwhelming. I break down and cry every time something new comes.”
A Go Fund Me page, titled ‘Help the Kids’, has been set up to help get the family back on their feet.
A family friend, who set up the fundraiser with the aim of raising £500, has urged members of the community to donate all they can so the family can quickly rebuild their life without stress.
She said: “The family has been through hell, they had nothing until me and the community got together to donate.”
The family are all safe and currently staying at a family member’s home.
The mum said: “We have been inundated with messages of support. We just want to thank the community, it has been brilliant the things that they have done for us.”
