An ambitious nine-year-old girl from Sheffield has started her own slime business in lockdown, becoming the city’s latest young entrepreneur.

Sapphire Billing opened Sapphire’s Slime at the start of February with the help of her parents and sister, and has since earned over £400 from 92 sales.

Support from her friends and family has played a key part in her early success, with her grandparents and teammates at Hallam Rangers football club buying her products.

Her mum, Olivia Billing, feels the time at home has benefitted her daughter. She said: “School is very one-dimensional. This lockdown has given us the opportunity to teach different things that are life lessons because you wouldn’t do this at school – you wouldn’t have time. It’s been a great opportunity.”
