The Link Community Hub in Stradbroke has plans to introduce ‘Tea for Two’: a new initiative that aims to bring locals back together.
The purpose of the event is to help minimize the social isolation that has occurred due to lockdown rules preventing in-person meetups.
The charitable organisation is a volunteer-run shop and help centre for anyone in the area needing extra support. Food packages, free period products and other communal events are what bring both young and old people together.
As the ninth most deprived area in Sheffield, many volunteers have helped in keeping it going, even during their closure during lockdown. These volunteers have been hard at work receiving donations and are ‘ecstatic’ to be back on track.
