Since April 12, Sheffield city centre has been slowly returning to normal, and May 17 will see more restrictions lifted. Restaurants, pubs and bars will soon be allowed to host people indoors, and some non-essential venues such as cinemas will be reopening again.
Many businesses have faced financial challenges during the lockdowns, with some having to make major decisions. Debenhams announced on May 5 that they will become a solely online retailer from May 15.
As a student city, vintage stores decorate most of Sheffield’s high streets. Whilst some were able to reopen last month, not all have made it through the pandemic.
Freshman’s Vintage Store on Carver Street and Vulgar on Devonshire Street both faced financial worries over the past year, so are happy to be able to serve the public again.
