University of Sheffield staff have been taking action over concerns relating to pay, forming picket lines across the university campus.
The University of College Union (UCU) announced its plan to strike on numerous dates throughout February and March last month.
The union said the strike will hit 150 Universities unless employers make “substantially improved offers” in a long-standing dispute over pay, working conditions, and pension cuts.
UCU is calling for a meaningful pay rise to deal with the cost-of-living crisis, and also action to end the use of insecure contracts.
Christina Murdoch, a member of the UCU said: “ What motivates me is that we haven’t had a pay rise that matches our inflation for several years.”
