The University of Sheffield Islamic Circle and Sheffield Hallam Islamic society have united to raise funds to provide support for Turkey and Syria following the devastation of an Earthquake.
The two societies have aimed to raise enough money, through a bake sale, at the Student Union to support survivors with food, medical supplies and shelter.
The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit in the early hours of 6th February was the worst earthquake to hit Turkey and Syria in over 100 years.
Infrastructure is heavily damaged, and the devastation occurred in a region where large refugee communities already lived in tough conditions.
They are on course to raise over £2500 and praised the support from the university.
