An episode of the family favourite aired last night on Cbeebies which was filmed at the Our Cow Molly Farm in Dungworth, Sheffield in June last year.
Eddie Andrew, farmer aged 44 from Dungworth said the family business “jumped at the chance”, to film with the iconic Cbeebies show.
The Sheffield farm received an “overwhelming” reaction from locals on social media as their Facebook post promoting the show obtained over 100,000 views.
One commenter named Lucy Jones wrote: “We watched it. Great to see Our Cow Molly on TV.”
Mr Andrew said the exciting visit came about when an employee of the BBC had seen photos of the farm’s trademark pink benches on social media.
The BBC got in touch with the farm and Mr Andrew and his family were delighted with the offer, having filmed with other shows for Channel 5 and Countryfile in the past. He said it was the “most exciting email of his life”.
The episode was filmed in June last year on one of the hottest days on record. Mr Andrew said in between takes Justin was having to stand in the walk-in freezer at -21 degrees to prevent his makeup from melting.
“We’ve had to keep quiet about it for months and months, so it’s great to finally be able to put out that it’s been on telly”.
He said: “Our farm children have been mad for Mr Tumble over the years. It was fantastic to be able to have an icon for them growing up who actually wanted to come and film at our farm of all places”.
“Both my children are at senior school now, and I didn’t say anything to them because I didn’t think it was a big deal, but on the day, my son got a photo with Mr Tumble, and it’s been his screensaver since”.
The episode aired yesterday at 9:45AM and repeated at 1:45pm on Cbeebies. It is now available to watch on BBC iplayer.
