Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore has celebrated his two-year anniversary since being appointed manager at the club.

Moore took over after the club was relegated from the second division, and has seen the team set new records including recently breaking ground with a club-record 20 games unbeaten in the league.

His first full season in Sky Bet League One ended with an impressive fourth-place finish,
narrowly missing out on automatics but securing a playoff place.

Despite a narrow defeat in the semi-final, the successful beginning to the new era gave fans
belief that the manager and his players could return them to the Championship.

Fans on Twitter have not held back with their praise for the Wednesday boss: “He’s turned
the whole club around. We have our Wednesday back,” said Deborah Taylor.

Another fan, Melvin Garratt tweeted: “Congratulations Darren on two years at Hillsborough. Looks like you’ve
turned this big ship around. Never doubted you, now lets go and finish the job by winning
the title.

“Onwards and upwards, in Darren we trust.”

High praise for the manager from Joe Crann on Twitter

Two years on from the day Moore signed the contract, the Owls sit top of the League
One table and in pole-position for the promotion race.

In a press conference the gaffer, recounting his first day, said: “I always remember Barry Bannan (the team
captain) saying to me ‘gaffer what are we going to do?’

“I said to him that we’ll have an identity here and we’ll play and develop understandings of
the game and that’s exactly what we’ve done.”

Humbly, Moore emphasised that “as a club we’ve done nothing yet” but believes his impact
has been to “change the mood and temperament” around the team and staff.

He also lauded the togetherness of the club and the atmosphere, attributing the Owls’
recent success to a “joint effort”.
