Britain’s latest controversial policy to limit the amount of ‘illegal’ immigration has passed though parliament this week.
The proposed bill received a majority of 63 in favour of passing the legislation after a vote within the Conservative party.
According to the outlines of the bill it proposes to detain asylum seekers who have crossed the channel.
Yasmine Plews, of Take the Knee Sheffield, said: ”They’re not illegal immigrants they’re mothers, they’re children, they’re people who are absolutely desperate to flee their countries.”
Sheffield action groups staged a protest on Monday against the bill and pledged their support for those who will be prosecuted by the bill.
They also say they will continue to show their support until the bill is reversed.
