A man in grey tracksuit and black hat is believed to hold important details of a theft and fraud case, the South Yorkshire Police said.
The police force is urgently appealing to the public to contact them if they know the man shown in the CCTV images.
A woman reported her purse was stolen when she was shopping at Heeley Retail Park on Chesterfield Road on March 14.
Half an hour later, her bank card was used at a shop on Machon Bank Road in a fraudulent transaction.
Anyone who recognises him or has any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 821 of 14 March 2023.
