Millions of pounds were raised for charity during the Sheffield Half Marathon last Sunday.

The run started in the city centre by the Town Hall and went as far as the top hills in the Peak District.

Sheffield based charities told ShefNews that the money raised by marathons makes a huge difference to their work.

Archie Organ, a runner for Molly Ollys, says he’s grateful for all the money that his family and friends raised for him as it means he can make a difference for a child’s life.

The Snowdrop project have said that the Sheffield Half marathon is an important time for revenue in their charity as it allows them to fund projects for the rest of the year.
