Extinction Rebellion Sheffield (XR) have started preparing for their venture to London for ‘The Big One’ protest.
They hope that this will be the biggest climate protest ever in the UK.
Their main demands are for the government to “Tell the truth, Act now and Decide together.”
They also hope for citizen-led democracy to end the fossil fuel era.
The group held a workshop at the Kelham Island Arts Collective, creating banners and painting umbrellas to both place around Sheffield and bring to London.
Sophie Macfayden, 63, South West Sheffield, a member of XR said: “We’re deeply worried and deeply anxious about the earth.”
More than 70 organisations are protesting including Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.
