After a season of success for Yorkshire managers, Paul Heckingbottom and Neil Warnock, culminates in a game between their two sides tonight.
Warnock, from Sheffield and an infamous legend of the Blades, faces United for the first time since September 2021.
He resigned from the Blades in 2007 following their relegation from the Premier League.
Barnsley-born Heckingbottom is aiming to secure the record for most points by runners-up in the Championship, a record previously held by Warnock’s United side.
Chad Jarvis of the Red Half of Sheffield podcast said: “I like the idea of playing against the old manager. It’s exciting to me.”
The game kicks off at 7.45pm at the John Smith’s Stadium, with Reading getting relegated if Huddersfield get a positive result.
