Sheffield town hall was chosen to be one of the ten locations for the ‘Lighting Up The Nation’ display.

The illuminated Town Hall appeared in the BBC’s coverage of the Coronation Concert, which aired on Sunday 7 May and featured a line up of celebrity performances from the likes of Take That and Katy Perry.

Visitors could watch the concert from the comfort of the Peace Gardens, which was filled with Union Jack bunting and decorated tables, imitating a huge street party.

Gary Clifton, Major Events manager for Sheffield City Council said the event was ‘quite a special moment for Sheffield’ and hoped it will be a moment that will go down in the city’s history.
