Sheffield Wednesday face their first semi-final playoff clash today when they travel to Peterborough United this evening.

This is the first of two legs where the overall winner will advance to the final, which will take place at Wembley Stadium.

The Owls finished this season with a recording breaking 96 points but finished third behind Plymouth Argyle and Ipswich Town.

The points tally would have been enough to win the title and guarantee automatic promotion last season.

Peterborough finished 19 points behind Sheffield Wednesday in 6th spot.

The Owls were in the semi-final of the playoffs last season where they played Sunderland, who eventually beat them by two goals to one to move to the final.

ShefNews reporter Charlie Fenton spoke to fans and leading journalists about Wednesday’s chances of promotion.
