Over £4,500 has been raised so far after Sheffield residents took on an abseil last Saturday, fundraising for three charities in the city.

The event, organised by Sheffield Universities RAG ( Raising and Giving society) welcomed anyone who was brave enough to take on the challenge of abseiling down the Owen Building.

The 12 story building features the poem ‘what if’ which can be seen as people arrive from the train station, into the city.

The donations will be split between Snowdrop, Emmamus and Sparkle Sheffield.

Lucy Fox, one of the event organisers who took part said : ”It was scary but such a great event, definitely one we want to keep doing again in the future.”

Fundraising pages are to stay open until next Monday the 22nd of May.
