Sheffield United have been handed two major boosts ahead of a Monday night clash with Arsenal.

Blades boss Chris Wilder spoke in length about the status of his players in a press conference this afternoon.

When asked about Ben Brereton Diaz and George Baldock, who were injury doubts going into the game, he was positive: “They’ve trained yesterday and today, fully, so delighted that we’ve got both those experienced boys back with the group.”

Baldock hasn’t appeared since a 2-0 loss to Manchester City in December. Wilder said: “The service that he’s given to the football club, the achievements that he’s been able to aid the football club in, and, would you believe it, a Greek international as well.

“I’m not so sure that when he walked through the door from Milton Keynes that we would [have] expected him in six or seven years’ time to be playing for the Greek national side.”

However, there wasn’t a specific timeframe as to when Cameron Archer would be back from his calf injury.

Wilder added: “I’m sure that he won’t be available before the international break, I’d be delighted if he is.

“Obviously now with the Man United game being rescheduled, it does give us another week to get the likes of Cameron right, Anis [Slimane] right and a couple of the others to help the squad.”

Rhian Brewster has had injury problems this year, such as with a hamstring injury, but Wilder said he believes his problems are behind him.

“You can never say never but we’re all delighted that he got through that shift that he put in on Sunday for 75 minutes. We wanted to keep him on the pitch as well because he was a threat going deep into the game.

“He trained yesterday, he trained today, not feeling anything,” he said.

“You can never say never because obviously there is a bit of history involved there, but he deserves a break and he deserves a bit of luck going forward.

“I think even the most negative of Sheffield United supporters will hopefully wish him all the best because he certainly deserves that for the amount of effort he’s put in to get himself back fit.”

In addition to those mentioned in the press conference, Daniel Jebbison, Max Lowe, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Mason Holgate, Chris Basham and John Egan remain out injured.
