Witnesses are being urgently sought by South Yorkshire Police after a serious collision on Manchester Road left a 21-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred yesterday at 11:25 am near More Hall Lane when a red Vauxhall Astra collided with a wall.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the driver was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
A section of Manchester Road near the junction with More Hall Lane was temporarily closed in both directions.
This closure allowed investigators to conduct thorough enquiries at the scene. The road has since been reopened.
South Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or observed the Astra before or after the incident to come forward. The authorities are interested in gathering dash cam or CCTV footage that might aid in their ongoing investigation.
