Age UK Sheffield has today unveiled a new charity shop in Banner Cross.
Age UK Sheffield is a regional branch of the charity with all the money raised staying in Sheffield. The charity aims to help elderly people and to end loneliness and poverty across the city.
Kelli Diener, Retail Development Manager of Age UK Sheffield, said: “With the recent cost of living crisis, we’ve had a lot of asks for support. Our phones have been inundated with requests for support.
“When this property became available to rent, we were actually thinking of doing another shop soon. The location is absolutely ideal, there is not any other charity shop on this street and it is a residential area so we hope we can get donations from people around here.”
There are four staff working in the shop at the moment including a manager and three part-time sales assistants.
The shop, which is on Ecclesall Road, sells a variety of items including children’s clothes, furniture and books with the largest section being womenswear.
This store adds to the charity’s existing three sites in Millhouses, Bradway and Broomhill.
