An alleged vandal attack took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, leaving several shops on a busy high street impacted.
It is thought around fourteen different shops on Glossop Road all had their windows smashed at around 9am on Sunday morning.
Businesses such as Crumb, La Vaca and Worth Interiors were all impacted by the alleged attack.
Sarah Worth, owner of Worth Interiors on Glossop Road, said: “There’s a massive psychological impact for not just me, but all the businesses. It’s just a really awful thing to happen.”
The shop windows that were attacked have since all been boarded up but the shops are all open for usual business as normal.
Physical damage can be seen across a number of the properties, including smashed glass on doors and windows and boarded up windows.
According to South Yorkshire Police, the damage caused from the alleged attack is thought to be over £20,000.
Ms Worth said: “There’s quite a significant financial impact as we’ve all got excesses to pay on our insurance policies so it’s gonna cost a significant amount of money for us all.”
Robin Hart, 51, from Sheffield pleaded guilty to 13 counts of criminal damage at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday 29th April.
Hart has been remanded on bail until his sentencing at Sheffield Magistrates Court on Friday 2nd August.
Ms Worth added: “There’s so many businesses that have been affected, so it’s going to take some time to get sorted out.”
Shop owners in Broomhill are encouraging visitors to not be put off by the recent events, and continue to support the local community.
