Sheffield International Market has returned to the Peace Gardens for the Bank Holiday Weekend.

The market’s arrival is happening alongside the Snooker World Championship Finals hosted at the Crucible.

The snooker final brings a large number of viewers to Sheffield, stall owners hope this will be reflected in increased footfall across the market.

Stall holder Shea Mellor said: ”Wherever we go there are new faces, it’s great to see a mix of Sheffield locals and those attending the snooker which definitely brings us more customers.”

The event is provided by Market Place Europe, a company that travels across the United Kingdom bringing over 70 market events each year.

Stall holder, Bibek Bhandari, said: “We travel to many different places in the UK, but Sheffield is one of my favourites. The people here are always so friendly.”

The market brings a wide variety of food, drink, crafts and goods from around the world.

Mariama Baldeh, owner of Foyemas Gambian stall, said: “Everything is homemade, we try to bring some Gambian cuisine for people to appreciate, I have loved sharing my food with customers and watching them enjoy it.”

Janice Cuncliffe, who attended the market, said: “I love all the smells, they are all so tempting and there’s such a great variety of goods.”
