The music event will be put on at The Phoenix Pavillion in Rotherham on Saturday 18th May, from 2pm onwards featuring live bands, food and merchandise.
‘The Sound of the Suburbs’ event is put on for anyone who enjoys Ska, Punk or Mod music and helps promote performers who are involved in the genres.
Artists will include bands such as Sharp Class, The Molotovs and The Seditionaries, as well as DJ’s Hank and Greg from SFL Sound Sheffield Trojan Explosion.
Although this particular event is not for charity, organiser Dean Darwin often plans similar events to raise money for local organisations and has some in the works for the future.
Dean said: “We don’t do charity events every time but we try to do at least every 12-18 months to support local causes.”
The next charity event he has planned is in early February 2025 for Barnsley Hospice and Rotherham Hospice, where there will be soul music such as covers of Dusty Springfield and Amy Winehouse.
He said: “Over the years with our charity events we have raised over £14,000 for various charities since 2009 – just for different hospices and hospitals like Macmillan and Western Park.”
