Walkley Festival launched a new art fair “Art in the Aisles” to showcase various talents of 37 Sheffield artists.

The event provided the space to meet the artists and learn about the various mediums and techniques they use. It took place over the early May bank holiday weekend on 4/5 May.

This two-day event coincided with the first weekend of Open Up Sheffield and was held in St. Mary’s Church, the Victorian church on the high street.

It was family-friendly with a mini-Arts Trail along South Road and art activities throughout the weekend.

Under the aisle of spectacular stained glass and Victorian architecture, there was live music and entertainment throughout the two days performed by local musicians.

Hot street food and homemade refreshments could be purchased. All the sale of the refreshment went to the S6 Food Bank, a charity the church supports

Shefnews was at the art fair, talked to various local artists and one of the organisers, watch more below.
