A study has reported that Sheffield has some of the worst nightlife in the UK.

BonusFinder.co.uk found that the northern city is lacking in its offerings of venues, accommodation, and casinos per 10,000 people.

A spokesperson for BonusFinder.co.uk said: “Sheffield ranks in tenth place amongst the worst cities for a night out in the UK.

“The city earned its lower ranking primarily due to its limited offerings of bars and clubs.”

The study scored Sheffield 7.34 out of 10, whereas Doncaster placed third on BonusFinder’s compilation of best night’s out in the UK.

London was ranked as the worst place to go on a night out, due to costs of alcohol and lack of accessibility to cheap accommodation.

Holly Atkin, 21, a bartender working in Sheffield, said: “The nightlife that we do have is actually very varied, it’s a lot better than other parts of the UK.”
