Sheffield United football legends are coming together this Friday for a fundraising event to support homeless charity The Archer Project.

The event taking place tomorrow (March 7) at Bramall lane aims to raise £15,000 to support the charities efforts in raising awareness and funds for homelessness.

It will feature a live Q&A session with club icons including Tony Currie, Rob Kozluk, Chris Morgan, and Paddy Kenny.

Chris Morgan, Former Sheffield United captain said: “It’s really important to raise awareness, and we hope to raise as much money as possible on the night.”

For over 30 years, The Archer Project has provided a safety net for people experiencing homelessness, offering food, employment opportunities, and long-term support to help individuals rebuild their lives.

Despite its role in the community, the charity receives no statutory funding and relies entirely on community support.

Head of Fundraising at The Archer Project, Joe Rogan, said: Homelessness is more than just a housing issue, it’s deeply linked to health and trauma.”

Studies show that 94% of people facing homelessness have experienced trauma, whether through adverse childhood experiences, PTSD, or other challenges.

He added: “Events like this help us provide essential support to those in need.”

In 2024 alone, The Archer Project supported 1,223 people and served over 24,000 meals.

Money raised from Legends Night will directly support The Archer Project’s core services, including its social enterprise, Printed by Us, which provides employment opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness.

Rob Kozluk, another Blades legend, added: “I always look forward to going back to The Lane, and it’s got all the great signs to be a good night.”

Over 200 people are expected to attend the event at Bramall Lane.

Event organiser Kev Johnson said: You get to listen to stories from absolute legends, it’s an honour to be a part of it, and ‘the lads’ can’t wait.”

Donations can be made during the event and through The Archer Project’s official channels.
