A new film premiered in Barnsley on Monday that celebrates the town’s community and heritage.
Sam Batley is the director of ‘The Town I Love So Well’ that screened at The Parkway Cinema on Eldon Street and was followed by a Q&A.
He said: “I think it’s changed my relationship to the town and that’s been lovely. Ultimately, I’m chuffed that loads of people are coming but I feel pretty chuffed with what I’ve made.”
The documentary is part of a wider project called ‘A Barnsley story’ and Mr Batley’s photography is also featured in an exhibition at The Civic.
This is funded by ‘Storying Barnsley’, Barnsley council’s cultural development fund programme that celebrates creativity in the town.
