Premier Record Fairs returned to Sheffield on Saturday, bringing together like-minded people with a passion for music.

With locations across the country, Premier Fairs brings together music collections of all genres, with thousands of vinyls, CD’s and cassettes on offer.

Founder Adrian Melling, 65, from Colne in Lancashire, set up Premier Fairs over 30 years ago, having sold records as a teenager, and has seen the industry go from “strength to strength”.

The fair has seen a changing demographic in recent years, with increasing levels of younger people showing an interest in physical music.

Latest figures from the Digital Entertainment and Retail Association show vinyl sales increased 10.5 per cent in 2024. This was the highest level this century and early forecasts for 2025 show no signs of slowing down.

Barry Holt, 70, from Lea in Lancashire, is one of the traders at the fair and said: “music is passion, it is one of these things where everybody likes music.”
