Fresh artists have been put on the bill for Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival this summer.

Friday’s lineup, a day curated by Sheffield’s own britpop legends Pulp, has had two big names added, including local star Ed Cosens of Reverend and the Makers.

Councillor Kurtis Crossland, Chair of communities, parks and leisure committee, said: “We’ve got such a good music heritage and Tramlines reminds us that we are good at music and culture as a city.

“Before I got into politics, I used to work at Corporation as a DJ, so music is something I love.”

Joining Pulp and Ed Cosens on Friday will be poet John Cooper Clarke

Cooper Clarke is the author behind Sheffield band Arctic Monkey’s song ‘I Wanna Be Yours’ off of their Brit Award-winning album AM.

The poet, originally from Salford, is also renowned for his poem ‘Sheffield’, an ode to his love of Steel City.

On Saturday there will also be performances from young and upcoming artists and producers, as a part of Sheffield-based Pattern and Push music management.

They will be joining big names like local boys The Reytons, freshly back on the scene Rizzle Kicks and Jake Bugg.

Sunday’s line-up, headlined by The Lathums and Kasbian, now has multiple new additions including Hannah Rowe and April Tapes.

Aside from the party in Hillsborough park, The Fringe at Tramlines will be holding its own events in and around Sheffield city centre.

Coin. Crossland said: “There’s plenty of free events around the city that you can go and enjoy, go see what the city has to offer.

“It’s also good to show off, to show how proud we are of our city and go have fun.”

Fringe fest ‘creates a unique Sheffield festival vibe all of its own, serving as a showcase of the city’s thriving grassroots music scene’, with a large variety of events happening over the Tramlines weekend.

Tramlines festival will be happening from Friday 25th July till Sunday 27th, with weekend tickets and Friday and Saturday day tickets already sold out.
