The annual Pint of Science Festival returned to Sheffield this year between the 19th – 21st May to share interesting and topical lectures available to the public.

This session is named ‘Say what?’ Language, Communication and Who Gets a Say consisted of 3 lecture talks, ranging over whether the voting age should be lowered and how modern languages are perceived in schools.

Multiple lectures were being held across the city at popular Sheffield community hubs. This session was held at Neepsend Social Club and Canteen.

Dr. Maynard, a University of Sheffield Lecturer also held a talk highlighting the social media issues of bullying of journalistic safety and trolling. This is her first Pint of Science event, she said she really enjoyed it.
