A second teenager has been arrested after a stabbing in Woodhouse last week.

The boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is since stable in hospital and is recovering well.

This follows the arrest of a 17-year-old boy on Sunday 22 March, who has been charged with attempted murder. He made his first appearance before Sheffield magistrates on Tuesday.
Police Superintendent Martin Simcock, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “This senseless attack is the reality of knife crime in our city, and how in the brink of a moment of violence, lives and families can be shattered and have their worlds turned upside down.
“Our dedicated officers have worked round the clock to understand the circumstances that led to this attack and ensure those responsible are brought into custody and put before the courts.
“We will not allow knife crime to take lives and cause fear and harm, it has no place in our communities.”
An appeal for information has been released by South Yorkshire Police, which urges the public to come forward by calling 101 or via their online portal by quoting incident number 1131 of 18 March 2026.
