The bus strikes in Doncaster are continuing for their 4th week amidst pay disputes between First Bus and Unite the Union.

The strikes occurred as a last resort as workers rejected an offer which failed to provide Doncaster drivers with equal pay.

Unite regional officer, Christian Ratcliffe has said: “Bus drivers working at Leger Way more than deserve the same pay as their colleagues in Sheffield, who do exactly the same job and work just 20 miles away. The situation is unacceptable.”

Zoe Hands, Managing Director of First Bus South Yorkshire, said that First Bus has been flexible to union demands. She said: “Our door remains open for discussions to find an agreement and avoid any further unnecessary industrial action.”
