A fundraiser has been started to help support a Sheffield Tattoo artist after her studio building collapsed last weekend.

It aims to raise £900 to help get the owner of Modelajna Studio on London Road back on her feet whilst bringing her business back to life.

Kaja Sieradzka Krause, 33, founder of the fundraiser and friend said: “I was truly heartbroken to see not only the collapse of the building but a business that Paula poured all her heart into.”

The entire street was closed off by police at 7am on Sunday morning due to rubble and debris across the pavement and road.

The building had suffered many leak issues for some time and despite repairs being carried out on multiple occasions, they continued to happen.

Paula Zalewska, owner of Modelajna Studio said: “I’m just a tattoo artist who put so much heart into my shop and there were lots of things of sentimental value. Hearing that I might lose it all was really hard.”

Miss Zalewska had been looking for a new property to relocate to for a few months due to the issues on the building affecting her work and wellbeing.

She said: “It’s a bittersweet feeling knowing I was unable to move in time.”

Many residents have also been displaced from their homes due to the incident but were provided with immediate help and emergency accommodation.

Nobody was injured in the accident.

Miss Zalewska has been given the go ahead to remove her belongings from the building and take to a new location which she is now focusing on renovating.

She said: “Mainly I want to acknowledge how grateful I am for the overwhelming support I have received. The kindness, concern, and encouragement from my clients, community, friends, and family have meant more than I can express.”

The Go Fund Me has currently raised £515 from 30 different donations.
