Sheffield Student Union has seen success with their new initiative which supports students during the cost of living crisis whilst promoting sustainability.

The Community Hub located on 3rd floor of the student union building is offering free takeaway breakfasts for from 26 May to 12 June, according to a recent social media post by the SU.

Community Hub co-ordinater Rose Hilton-Tapp shared how important it is to educate students the best they can on food waste as they make use of the Hub’s services.

The Community Pantry partners with FareShare to offer free food to students, while the Community Closet allows students to donate and pick up second-hand clothing.

The Students’ Union says the project will continue to expand through workshops, volunteering opportunities and future community-led events throughout the year.
