Friends Together, a support hub for people with learning disabilities, is celebrating moving into a new venue in Hillsborough after securing extra funding.
Friends Together are a family run business based in Sheffield. They provide support for people who need that “extra help to lead a more fulfilling and inclusive life”.
This work is done in a person-centred way, supporting students to reach their potential at their own pace, doing things that are meaningful for them.
All students take part in planned group activities, these activities are decided with the students to ensure that needs and expectations are met.
The activities are always changing as to keep things fresh for all students, this is something which is unique for this type of organisation, which is a making Friends Together one of the most popular support centres in Sheffield.
ShefNews spoke to students about the venue and how much they enjoy attending and being part of the centre.
