In an attempt to stop people judging books by their cover, the idea of a ‘Blind Date Book Club’ is the perfect solution.
The aim of the fundraiser is to buy a mystery book which is wrapped up so you can’t see the cover.
Proceeds from the book sale are going towards the Gaza Emergency Appeal and Sparkle Sheffield.
The book sale started on Monday at the University of Sheffield’s Student Union and will finish this Friday, with the girls on a mission to sell out all their books.
The charity was set up by the university’s Raising and Giving (RAG) community and there will be multiple fundraising events across the student’s union this week.
The books sold are pre-loved to support sustainable reading, and donations of old books are still being accepted until the end of the week.
The Gaza Emergency Appeal prioritises safe water, medicine supplies and short-term shelter kits for the people of Gaza who have lost everything.
The girls are also fundraising for Sparkle Sheffield, a charity who supports families with autistic children to make them feel less isolated and more empowered.
The organisation are still accepting book donations until Friday 3rd of May, and donations can continue to be made with the fundraiser. More information can be found here.
