A Sheffield ceasefire campaign group has arranged to meet with the MP for Sheffield Central to discuss the government handling of the Israel/Gaza Conflict.
Sheffield Friends of Standing Together have held bi-weekly half-an-hour vigils outside Sheffield Town Hall since April to commemorate all those who died in the conflict and will meet with Abtisam Mohamed MP on 7 April.
Ms Mohamed is a Labour MP and part of the Foreign Affairs Committee, which overviews the actions of the Foreign Office. They met with directors of the movement Standing Together at an inquiry last month.

Ian McHugh, a member of the Sheffield Friends of Standing Together said: “We’re interested in what she did make of that meeting, what she thought about other initiatives in the area, and what things can the British government do?
“The issue of arms sales is obviously really important. Long-term support for the reconstruction of Gaza – not in the way Donald Trump sees it – but in the way that makes sense for the Palestine people themselves. The independent right of Palestine to co-exist with Israel.”
Mr McHugh said that the organisation is bringing “together different communities” to “resist the occupation” of Gaza.
Standing Together is an Israeli grassroots movement, advocating for a two-party solution and an end to the occupation in Gaza.
“I think it’s important for her to know that some of her constituents are very concerned about the situation,” Mr McHugh added.
The Labour Government had announced a partial suspension of arms exports to Israel last September but over 300 of the 350 arms export licenses to Israel are still active.
