This weekend marked a decade of thrilling convention HorrorConUK, which returned to the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham on Saturday.

Horror fans had the chance to meet their favourite horror actors, engage in special film screenings, and take part in the yearly Cosplay Parade.

The celebration also saw the biggest UK reunion of key cast members from the Hellraiser franchise, including stars Doug Bradley, Ashley Laurence and Nicholas Vince.

Nicholas Vince, who played the iconic Chatterer in the Hellraiser franchise, said: “I’ve been there a couple of times before and I always have a really good time there. Hellraiser fans are wonderful, Nightbreed fans are wonderful, horror fans in general are wonderful so it was always nice to hang out.”

Mr Vince also brought posters and blu rays DVDs of his documentary ‘I am Monsters!’ about his experience in the genre to give to fans.

Also among the guest stars was Graham Humphreys, horror illustrator and designer who has worked on iconic film posters such as The Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street.

He said: “The conventions are a great way to engage with the people that actually buy the products you market, from home entertainment packaging, film and event posters, to book and LP covers.

“Part of my job is to ‘get under the skin’ of a person, to try to understand the essence of the character. It’s also a privilege to hear the stories of their professional experience – fascinating and often surprising. It all boils down to the shared human experience

Mr Humphreys produced the commemorative poster for this year’s HorrorCon, featuring a ‘Hellraiser II’ reference, which guests were able to purchase at the convention.

‘The Black Market’ also offered fans the chance to stock up on killer merchandise and collectables.

Caroline Morris, artist at It’s Alive Apparel, made her HorrorCon debut this year, selling a range of spooky wearable art and hand-painted clothing.

“To be asked to trade at the 10th Anniversary is just incredible and I was very honoured. I was excited to soak up the atmosphere as the horror community is just so welcoming and it’s great to be part of it.”

Exclusive items created in honour of special guests included a handbag for Ti West’s ‘Pearl’ and a ‘Pinhead’ shoulder bag.
