The Leadmill club in Sheffield is starting a crowdfund to relocate to a new permanent venue.

This follows the closure of their original venue in June 2025, after 45 years of operation – due to an eviction from their landlord, Electric Group.

The crowdfunder, titled #TheNewLeadmill – Powered By The People, asks for donors to help contribute towards the various costs associated with setting up and opening a new long-term location to host events.

Specifically, they are looking to cover the costs of securing a permanent space, building technical infrastructure, and preserving their iconic Leadmill heritage.

In an Instagram post, The Leadmill said: “to everyone who’s ever walked through our doors or supported us.”

“This isn’t about starting over from scratch. It’s about continuing something that matters to people.”

The club has still been able to host events, however they have been confined to temporary locations across Sheffield – including the Student Union’s Foundry, and The Steamworks.

The old venue, on the other hand, is now set to be called Electric Studios, a brand new music venue that is planned to open in spring 2026.

The campaign is accepting donations of £5, £10, £20, and more.
