According to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), Arundel Gate is number nine of the top ten roads to nationally see most fines from unsuspecting motorists.

With a total of 27,963 fines in 2024 to 2025, Arundel Gate in Sheffield City Centre tends to get many motorists in trouble.

After the implementation of a ban in March 2023, which excludes all traffic except buses, taxis and private hire cars from driving towards High Street through Arundel Gate.

Its aim was to cut air pollution and cut delays on bus routes due to traffic.

Instead it also created one of the most hated streets by drivers, due to the collection of around £941,353 in fines in 2024/2025.
