The Sheffield Cocktail Festival is returning to the Steel City this weekend, promising a full-day celebration of cocktails, music and food.

The event on Saturday has been described as Sheffield’s “biggest cocktail party”, bringing together 25 of the city’s best independent bars at The Steamworks in Highfield. The festival’s design is planned to feel like walking through Sheffield itself.

Danielle Hill, the organiser of the festival, said: “The aim is for the festival to feel easy, social and fun, with plenty of choice across cocktails, classics and low to no alcohol options.”

This year the festival is structured across two sessions from 12pm-4pm and 6pm-10pm, which allows attendees the choice of a lunchtime or evening experience. This makes a change from last year, where there was just one session.

A standard ticket costing £25 includes two cocktails, with further drinks available for purchase throughout the event. All attendees will also be able to partake in cocktail making masterclasses.

The festival also promises live music and Sheffield based DJs, including the returning Andy H.

This year, the organisers have added a dedicated classics bar, and a spirit and mixer bar, so alongside the serves from the main bars easier go-to options are included.

Attendees will be able to explore offerings from a wide range of participating venues and drinks brands, including cocktail serves, beer, wine and non-alcoholic options.

Aidan Kelly, 20, who lives in the city and has got a ticket for the festival, said “I think the festival sounds like a great idea, and I’m really excited to go and experience Sheffield’s different bars and cocktails.”

Food will be available on site from local vendors such as Pellizco and Cowboy Burgers, ensuring there are savoury options throughout the day.

Organisers have emphasised that bars from across Sheffield will take part and bring the whole scene together, with names including Public, Pearl, Golf Fang, Roxy Ballroom and Dark Horse among those confirmed in advance listings.

Tickets are on sale now, with standard admission and VIP packages available directly via the official Sheffield Cocktail Festival website.
